Cindybear

My sister's birthday was Monday, so I made her an adorable bear cake to celebrate. We call her Cindybear and I know that she has a fondness for teddy bear cakes ;) Hopefully, I'll get to see her and eat a real cake soon. I did much better on the basket weave for the top than the sides.

No, I was not slacking!

Sorry for not posting my project from last week. I'm horrible with a camera, so I had to get help taking photos. In honor of The Big Game and Valentine's day I did some cookies for each. First, I did a gingerbread footbal player. Next up are conversation heart cookies decorated in Color Flow; which you can tell I still haven't gotten the hang of.

Please to enjoy!

Blog Bird Cake

My first for-the-blog cake! The first time I saw this blog bird logo, I knew it would look cute on a cake. I had intended to use royal icing for the logo, as seen in the second picture, but some kitchen mishaps resulted in my freehanding the design in buttercream. Also, this was going to be a surprise birthday cake for my friend Claire, but I couldn't wait til April to try it :)

Chrissy's Wedding Cake

This is a pattern sketch for a Hindi fusion wedding cake. I used Wilton stencil technique combined with free handing to create a motif reminiscent of bridal henna. The cake might be red or white with this pattern in gold or marigold. The multiple repeat would go on the top of the cake, with single "paisley" panels around the sides of the tiers.
